Original and excellent condition. This Springfield M1 Garand was manufactured in Sept. 1940, prior to the US involvement in WW2. Pre-war Garand’s are increasingly hard to find. The first range of assigned serial numbers was 1 – 100,000 and was issued to Springfield. This rifle falls in that range. The US loaned M1’s to Denmark starting in 1950 after WW2. Not a part of the WW2 Lend-Lease program as Denmark was occupied during the war. They replaced many barrels and parts as needed. This barrel was rebuilt in 1951. All SA parts, including barrel, which is marked marked S-A-1-51. Left side of stock is stamped “SA” with “S” underneath. This rifle came from the Civilian Marksmanship Program and was sold in 2007 along with a Certificate of Authenticity. Includes a post war manufactured canvas carry bag.
